Have you ever bought a peice of kit that seemed like a bargain and turned out to be a great product? Or perhaps it was expensive but turned out to be more than worth the price tag?

If so what is it?

I think for me it would have to be my bag, the Kata DR-465. I brought this last summer before going to the alps, not wanting to spend about £120 on a lowepro. This turned out to be absolutely great and about half the price. It even came with a free Manfrotto monopod! Must have been one of the first times i've ever bought something i've seen in an ad in a mag...

50mm f1.8D, £90

It's been dropped and generally hammered for years but would definitely get another in an instant if it broke.

Tamron 17-50 f2.8

I cannot rate this lens highly enough when it comes to overall performance & value for money.

Second Hand Body off Roo £100
50mm f1.8 £90

everything is perfect, yet to brake and cost nothing compared to what i could have spent..although i am now looking for something a bit wider!

That's interesting, as i'd always assumed that kit lenses didn't need upgrading.

I'd heard about Gurilla pods but never considered them due to price. I was at a market in Holland and saw a similar idea on a stand so asked the chap how much it was going for - 7Euros. Snapped that deal up! Have never handed the loot over so quick.

Its probably not as good as the real deal but has been a very practical tool none the less especially on uneven ground Cool
