Indeed I have media accreditation! Hopefully get some nice uber-close fisheye + fill-flash shots if we get some sun... Been a long time since I've taken any photos matching that description, which is strange for me.
How did you get hold of it? just wondering because my brother runs a south-east mountain biking news site and he emailed nissan about media passes who said they'd pass it on to someone else, and then he never heard back. Is it too late or do you think there's still a chance? Or is there a chance of getting in back-door?

is this a bad point to say..i dont have a long range lense.
Yes, i was thinking the same. How am i ever going to get any decent pictures with an 18-55mm when i'm standing about 2 miles away???!!! _________________ Click on my sig...

Telephoto lenses aren't really that much use. There are often people leaning all over the place and you get lots of nice pics of blurred heads. Better to take your widest lens and stand in front of everyone else, going for panning shots. That approach worked best for me at the last urban event I was at (fat face DH in Edinburgh). _________________ Hamish
Actually, a tele lens is a good idea for this event. The course is fairly large, need to stay versatile to say the least.
My lens list for the weekend consists of the 10.5, 50 f/1.4, 18-70 and 80-200 f/2.8
Only gonna bother with one flash, two will be more a hinderance than a help. Plus I've been practicing with balancing light better, treating the sun as just one of two light sources which you can use either/or as your main light or fill light. So hopefully it'll have paid off!
As for getting media passes, I dunno if it's too late now and I'm having trouble getting hold of the organisers as it is to get some more details.
yea im going with with a 50 f/1.8 which i havent got yet..
and maybe a 70-300, borrowed of a mate!
If the corse is going to be outside the tate.. which it is, there really isnt much space outside there. i mean i think the corse will be compact insead of strung out..
and imagen alll those spectators in that area! its going to be hectic.
if anyone is in london, they couldent take a look and see if anything is going up yet could they? _________________ www.TOMGRUNDY.BLOGSPOT.COM

Exactly what i was thinking. I'm interested to see how it's going to work. The organisers must have something in mind as it's the final....

Aah shame. Why are seemingly simple things always so difficult!!? _________________ Click on my sig...
I'm going with my mate. Between us we'll have a 70-200 something wideangled (waiting to see what's available from work) a 50mm & a 28-80mm. My 18-70 fell apart today (obviously didn't survive the last crash as well as I thought) and I don't know if my mate can fix it in time.
May possibly be taking no flash and its meant to rain all day.
Woop I'm going to be there with all my mates and meeting up with a photog mate too at some point.
Wish I had media accreditation but not yet , I'll be taking the 17-40, nifty 50 and 70-200, though I render the flash useless seeing as I don't have a pass I'm going for more atmosphere shots than riding shots I suppose, the setting is going to be quite amazing though its a shame you'll be shooting into the sun most of the day if you want the Tate in the shot too!
I'm heading back home from Leicester tomorrow so will be able to get a peak on the train over Blackfriars and will report back.
See you there guys and happy shooting. _________________ MTB-Addict Flickr
