spur of the moment shot, taken of biker_chris walking back up the hill

i forget exactly what it was taken at but its around this.

ISO 800, 50mm, f.4, 1/40s

any comments, tips, etc...

my critique: composition slightly off (didnt have time to compose cause i took it impromptu), and mainly, i shoulda stopped down/up/idunno which which which the ISO to 600 which woulda given me f/3.5 which woulda also given a shorter DOF.

thnx

be at picky as you like Very Happy lol

you had to go to 800 to get to f4?? was it that dark???

dial in -0.3 on the exp (Hamish told me to do that initially and i can see why. IMO looking at those whites they look a tad blown not your fault.. i think the D50 has a tendency to overexpose..)

i like it.... nice body shape angle, needed to be faster but than your into 1600iso trying to keep about f4..

Just to illustrate... (crap photo warning but it's the idea) you REALLY needed a better lens (50mm 1.Cool which would help you with those darker shots..

this was with a 50mm @ 1.8 Iso 400 @ 1/80 it was almost dusk in a thick forest. these guys were ROCKETING down him and hitting a kicker to clear 30ft..

only a cheap (in comparison to my VR-S lens) and takes great shots.

the blown highlights are probs a bit the flash's fault too
