bsacially, i have a problem when i wanna photo at esher shore.
well, what the problem is, because of the wierd foliage, its quite dark around the stunts, but the sky, in the shots, it really really really really burn out, and if i exposure for the sky, the rider is a really really really underexposed. see my problem?
also, because of the nature of the foliage (lots of random thin branches and holly and random stuff), whtehr i look up towards a rider in the air, the rider is hard to spot out against the very compelx branches.
anyone know how to get round these problems? thnx a bunch

Yeah.
Like I said before - overcast conditions, high ISO and wide aperture are best for forests, with rear synch flash if panning. If you have to blow the sky then do it. It can't be helped.
of course sometimes it won't work:
but unless you've got about 20 SB-800s then you won't have a chance _________________ Hamish |

| Option number 2, get as high as you can to exclude as much sky as you can, or specifically shoot from an angle where there is a more bushy background. |

Good point, Roo.
Although it was so obvious I didn't even consider it.
