Cheers. The second one was taken in the Pentland Hills, Edinburgh but it could be lots of places, I guess.

what filters (if any) did you use for the 2nd? grad? poalriser? skylight?

I just wondering cause I need some idea of what filters can give what results...

I didn't use any filters either on the camera or simulated in CS2. I used an old photography trick where you take the photo when the light is well balanced, in the early evening so that you get a nice photo without the sky being overexposed or the shadows too dark Wink

Really like that first one, the second one could do with some good old fashioned rule of thirds composition going on. There's a bit of blank space with the blue sky at the top, and the ground element is too close to the bottom.

yeh, you could probs make the bottom one to rule of thirds, well closer to it but cropping off 20 or 30 pixels, maybe more to get closer to it.
