That last one would have been better if you had taken another one looking up higher and autostitched them together... maybe.

yeah i have to say i agree... would of been nice to see the tops of the trees too Wink

I noticed in Roo's thread that you used about + 1 - 1 1/3 exposure comp. They still look a bit overexposed to me. It's difficult shooting in harsh light but you normally want a bit of detail in the snow rather than it being blown. One of the best ways of shooting in snow is by using spot metering in M mode. For bright light set the exposure so that the snow is at +2 and for dull days set it so that it's at +1 1/3. That way the camera exposes things so that there is still a bit of detail present. You'll still struggle if there's too much dynamic range in the scene for the camera but that means you need to either shoot when the lighting is better or take multiple exposures and blend.

I'd love to try and post some recent examples but we've not had any snow up here in Edinburgh. I'm jealous of you all down south.
