Shots from ride today

I hoped the weather would clear up but it didn't, so I didn't really take many pics. I just packed my camera up and did a 30+ mile ride over to Thursley heath.

I like the last, though cropping the slope off of the horizon at the top would improve it.

The first is quite classic - something you might see in an article in a photography magazine. I like the way you can see the trail winding on in the 3rd, though the bike in the foreground doesn't work for me - it seems to get in the way. Perhaps if you had managed to get it in focus it would have worked better? The second shot is my favourite - I love all the horizontal lines/layers and the fact that it looks so un-british is great too.

Both have good points, I didn't notice that bit of sky appearing in the last.

With the 3rd shot I think it depends how you look at it, I decided to put the bike in for some context, a little twisty bit of hardpack singletrack like that is just begging to be ridden. I think I have a few variations on it though.

Maybe it's because of the angle of the bike, why not try a more close up of the fork maybe changing focus.

I like the overall compositions and think that the bike is fine as it is in the third one. I think the second one works best, although the first could work a lot better with an interesting sky and some shadows. The only real criticism is the lighting, which is sort of outof your control (although... if you will shoot landscapes when the light is that flat... Wink). I think that all of them are definitely worth reshooting in the nice, late evening light.
