Shopping experiences

Does anyone have any positive/negative ratings for various high street/online shops?

A recent prchase from simplyelectronics.net has put me off them after an order placed on the 6th was meant to take 3-10 days dispatch but actually arrived on the 27th (this was ordered in the uk and was overtaken by an order from Hong Kong by 2 weeks).

They were cheapest though...

Warehouse express are one of the most reliable net vendors in my limited experience. Not always the cheapest but good service. Sort of like CRC or wiggle I guess.

Yeah, i've only ever ordered from warehouse express once, but they do seem good and have an extensive range. As you say Hamish, they always remind me of the CRC of photography.

Forgot to add on the 9th day (of the 3-10 in which the item was to arrive) I sent an email to ask where it was as i was going away, to which a response was sent 'will be dispatchd within 10 working days from order'. Very helpful!

I've just been to B&H photo, the store is crazy, 60 odd desks with sales assistants, simply for DSLR's, let alone medium format and other camera bits. A weird trolley system where the basket with your bits in goes travelling aorund the store above your head on a conveyer, more like an airports baggage system!

I did ask for a discont as I was spending a fair bit, unfortunately they only do that if you spend over $20,000!

Definitely wrth a visit if you ever find yourself in Manhattan.

Sounds crazy! Are they a chain store or is it a one-off?
