Done it only twice really using different methods. One is freezer bags, hole for the lense and hole for viewfinder, quite good but eventually water gets in anyway.
My prefered method is the one I used at Fort William this year and it's very simple........umbrella!

Umbrella or if you've got cash to spend..
Do what i do.. Use a diving camera cover.
I can take my camera into the sea and its fine.
Same applies when using it in the rain.
Works a treat. All the freedom of my cam as normal.

oo like the umbrella idea, lol, i might have to try at some stage over winter
also, i should hopefully be getting a diving cover for one of my cams (either D70 or compact) and could use that i guess

1. Take one SLR
2. Cover with tesco bag
3. Sorted.
Tesco bags are ONLY suitable for this purpose, they split when filled with shopping.
Note: No other supermarket bags may be used, it's against the law, because err, I say so.
