Ride yesterday (new camera)

Needed to test out the d3, so did a very short loop around where I live of whatever I saw.

And of course a 100% crop of 3200iso...

My fav is the sheep Smile

What's the weight like with that and a lens (24-70 f2.8 I presume?) ?

Must drag a bit on the uphills.

Nice work though. Like the first horsie one. Sheep freak me out a bit. Anyone who's been to the Agrodome in Rotorua will know what I'm on about.

Close, it's the 14-24 (I had my 80-200 f2.8 with me too for the long shots), don't think I will be able to afford the 24-70 for a while..... The weight really isn't that bad because although it's a heavier combo than the D200 + lens, it's a bit more balanced.

Sheep freak me out a bit too, ever since finding a mummified one between some rocks on a windy grey dartmoor!

Love the 3rd and 7th, Roo. What kind of bag are you using to carry that gear around on the bike?

Nice, the first horse shot is my fave one too. I saw on dpreview that the D3 costs £3399 for the body only.  Shocked Is that how much you payed??

Lowepro Computrekker AW I think it's called, filled up with camera gear and laptop I can just about carry it on as hand luggage on a plane, although the look on the ladys face when she picked it up to search it was quite funny, she nearly fell over Laughing

I can get 2 camera bodies (D3, D200), 2 flash guns, 3 PW's, 80-200 f2.8. 14-24 f2.8, 50mm f1.8, laptop, charger, spare aa's and then the usual adapters, cables, cf cards in there but that's pretty packed and weighty.

3399 is the RRP, I just went into the local jessops as there aren't many places much cheaper at the moment (£2999) I keep an eye on this website http://camerapricebuster.co.uk/ but hey it's an investment... they only got that one (their first) in the day before I got it, not only that but a buyer appeared for my fisheye before I even decided to advertise/sell it (I always knew I'd sell the fisheye if I got a D3 as it's DX and the 12-24 on full frame is close to the 10.5 on digital anyway) fate? combine that with at least 3 decent shoots planned by the end of the month and I decided the time was right.
