here's mine Gee Atherton at Twentyfourseven downhill race.

Fozzy - I think I recognise some of the highlight reduction and purple fringing removal in that great pic.
Pagey
The standard has upped so much, it's unbelievable, some top quality pictures, very impressive. I will try to get some sweet pictures, also are they allowed to be edited in photoshop, an if so, to what degree.
dandantheadminman
you can 'enhance' them a bit, liek tweeking levels or whatever, but it cant look maniuplated.

I'm wondering, if I don't take any photos this month, and it wins, can I claim credit for my involvement?
dandantheadminman
i dont get it? explain more please Hamish
Hamish
I did a bit of overexposure fixing and cropping. Fozzy does most stuff with straight JPEGs, I just helped out with a tiny bit of PP (including manually fixing red-eye). I felt I had to as it's a great shot.
My comments to Fozzy were tongue in cheek.
fozzybear
i can't (don't) use PS Hamish fixed some red eye and overexposure on the "Giant" logos and the "1" plate.
dandantheadminman
o rite, i get it.
o yeh, you can have credit if ya want.
Hamish
Och, sod it. Here's one from last month in case I don't get around to it. I won't be riding next weekend and it'll be Christmas before I know it...

I took this photo a few weeks ago at our shitty skate park. Or are the little wheels not allowed in this comp?
jedi
great pic! stop the comp! winner!!!!
jetsetdan
i am with Jedi on this one.
This is a competition winner for sure.
very nice pic. caught the shot perfectly.
Good effort and keep it up
dandantheadminman
bmx is fine
yeh tis gd, but my vote is still for hamishs or better still, myn, hahaha
Hamish
LOL
Stop the competition already???? It's not even December!
Plus - that's not even a proper bicycle.
IMHO Fozzybear's is a better photo and has my vote for now. I'm sure there'll be plenty more photos that can compete with the current entries. We've not seen mikedeere's entry yet, never mind the ones that have still to be taken in December.
dandantheadminman
yeh, mike always enters a killer! grrrrrr
biker_chris
jedi are those pics of you !! casue the north shore step up looks very hard !
jedi
yeah the boss hog step up is me
mikedeere
For now I think I'll post this photo:
Apart from resize this photo is completely uneditted! Not even RAW adjustments... Unusual for me. I usually shoot urban MTB stuff, so that makes a change too!
Although... I'll have a stack of photos to upload on the 22nd of December, when I get back from California. Whilst looking through recent riding photos I'd taken I found very little, so my 2 weeks away are my chance to catch up!
duncan_g
Nice, another cracker
fozzybear
mike u got a link to the original?
mikedeere
The original is a 48Mb 12Mp TIFF file, a bit much to upload! I can upload either a small cropped section as a sample or I can upload a full-res JPG, which might look a bit low on quality.
dandantheadminman
woah, thats a big raw file size, lol
fozzybear
PS RAW...
The reason why i asked is.. nice shot (facial expression and body posture are great) but is the foreground just out of focus (DOF) or something else (tracking / motion blur).
mikedeere
It's motion blur, I was tracking the rider.
Actually, I've just realised that most of the scene is blurred compared to the rider. So yeah, tracking.

This my first post here so hi! I think i've spoken to you on trials forum mike?
But anyway here's my 4 entries. If i get any better before december i'll whack em up . Low quality/size as they were just uploaded to show someone but you get the idea.

TimB
just a few from last month when the weather was nicer
jedi
cant stand nor film/photograpgh riders wearing no lid
dandantheadminman
you make a point, but still cant put down his nice photos because the rider was silly not wearing a lid
jedi
no but i think mags and films shouldnt include such pics .
its not a good photo because of that
dandantheadminman
yeah, i feeking hate it when you see riders in mags and vids and shit with no lid, tis just setting a shitty example for the young-uns.
rad2themax
Just to say the entries in my post at the end of page 3 have changed a bit.
TimB
i dont think its important weather a rider wears a lid or not, i learnt my lesson by face planting DJing and biting my tounge off and a hole in my chin, almost died from the blood loss and shock etc. but when i ride street unless im going big i dont wear a lid, i dont know why, its just not as comphy. sure i can fall back and hit my head but the chances are low. anything where a hit to the head would more likley cause more than a bit of unconcousnes i wear a lid though.
and i love that pic from rad2themax in the outdoor skate park abubica
dandantheadminman
yeh, that pic rules, mainly cause he can do them on bigger QPs than me, hehe
anyways, that slam sounds bad dude, i guess after a slam like that, you have all the right to decide, knowing the consiquensis, but i always wear lid cause its saved my life many a time
Hamish
Here are a couple from today, the only day I've taken any biking pics in December.

Thanks, max. It was taken at Dumyat which is just behind Stirling. The views there are simply stunning. More here if you're interested.
