I went for Hamishs, although it could certainly be improved and seems pretty point and shoot by your standards (IMO) it has a nice feel to it. And when you look closer you realise the framing between the trees has taken some thought and he's got every aspect of the trail in. Can't beat a clean blue sky either
My runner up would be ben though, the scenery is great and he's used thetrail to lead you to the rider well, although the rider doesn't quite pop and it may have worked better if he was in the bright patch of dappled light a bit further down the trail.
Bit of a poor turnout this month though. Personally i think the themes are a good idea but should be based upon ideas that everyone can use rather than just disciplines of riding.
Things like Weather, Nature, Architecture, Sillhouttes, Natural Light etc etc.

Cheers rad2themax. I actually took that one with the camera resting on a stone on top of the Leg Gets wooden sculpture thing, to use as part of a sequence, which I've not got around to making yet. The rider would have been a bit sharper if I'd panned, like I usually do. I just thought having the hut and run in looked a bit more 'freeride' than the closer crops, taken from lower down so that the wheels were above the treeline, which gave better pics IMO.
I went for JAW's. I like the use of the silhouettes of the rider and the trees, although it's a bit central and a tiny bit of cropping would improve things.

I have to agree: a poor turnout indeed. I would have thought everyone in this forum could have something freeride related but oh well. And yes, we won't only be doing disciplines, we will be doing others like you suggested too. Remember last months theme of B&W or sepia?
