Portes du SoleilMy first time out in a couple of years, so good to see it all again. Didn't take too many pics as it's a bit of a pain in the arse getting cameras out and getting riding buddies to stop mid runs and whatnot. Anyone else heading out this year?

Ahhh can't wait now. About 3 weeks till I go. As grinch said, won't be the same when we go: probably raining and 10 foot braking bumps!!!
Naah should be great, i know what you mean about getting the camera out... you should have been there whilst we were trying to film a segment...

i was going to take out all my gear, but im tempted to take a little compact cam.
all i want to do is ride, not get caught up because im the "photo man"

That seems to happen to me often! I keep riding until suddenly.... the lighting's great for a shot! I then usually spend most of the time photographing from then, though it's a little different in the alps - you can't not ride!

I tended to do more opportunistic stuff in the Alps. Take the camera out on the days with good lighting, but also when people are getting a bit tired. Simply go on ahead and ask them to wait a minute until you find a good spot and then set up. Doesn't stop things too much when you get used to.

Sweet sweet photos. Has got me right in the mood Ausust can't come quick enough now! How was the track condition dooley?
We went earlier last year but Les Gets was in bad condition (break bump wise).
As for being the camera man it was annoying at the time but rewarding results

I didn't take the dSLR. I'd just be too paranoid with it strapped to my back and plus I think it would hinder my riding too much.
Track conditions didn't seem too bad to me. There's always braking bumps there, but I didn't find I was suffering too much arm pump or anything. Just stay off the front brake and it's all good!
