what inspires me is seeing all the great pics people take and adding the blurring affect so the persons clear but the backgrounds blurred

Darcy Wintenburg, Derek Westurlund and his crew of photgraphers from the collective and roam, they are truley inspirational to the sport. Those films express the passion for mountain biking that i feel everyday, and in the extras the slideshow section is awesomwe. Their ideas and the way that they capture the ambience of the locations and riders, it truley is awesome.

I can't pin down one or even many names that inspire me... I tend to look at all sorts. From photos in magazines to photos on the back someone I've just met's camera, if I see something I really like then that drives me on and makes me glad I'm a part of something that makes people happy. If they're viewing a photo on a glossy page or looking through a lens in the middle of no-where in the rain, if there's a smile then there's a reason for photos.
All I can say is that I like photos that make people smile, that have an impact on people, that really strike you as soon as you see it. I'm also a big fan of colour and it's use... But that's something I need to look more into.

i love the way that you can still see the dust rising from the path in the back ground, and i like the composition because it doesnt make the rider the main focus of the photo, but instead makes the places where he has been and where he is going look more important.
just my two cents

I have to say that, as corny as it may sound, I'm what inspires me.
I don't want to just try and copy people. I might see something cool somewhere and borrow it, but I want to be happy with what I do and do my own thing. I regularly look back on all my photos and see where I can improve things and what works for me. I always want to get better results, but when I say better I mean that 'making people smile' thing that Mike was on about.
Hopefully one day I'll be completely happy with what I do (but then I'll have to retire ).

1. The feeling of capturing something no other has, and being able to share it with everyone.
2. The thought of maybe one day people seeing those captures properly published, somewhere, anywhere, I don't care, I want people to see.
3. Seeing reactions, and I love taking shots that make people talk.
4. Knowing that some people "work" as a photographer, and that I just am one. I'll never have to work a day in the rest of my life if I can spend them making photographs.
5. My boyfriend, his success and his reluctancy to help me - makes me work things out for myself, makes me get off my arse and do the washing up. He's very clever like that.
and much more!
