Local trails today - 05 Oct

The Nibbler

D200 & Tamron 17-50 f2.8

lighting was a single off camera SB-600 set to TTL, using commander mode (flash not contributing to exposure)

C&C appreciated, as always.

Great shots, love the location. Particularly like the 3rd.

Sweet shots! Love the colours in the 2nd & 4th shots, I can see the 4th on the cover of Decline! Like the 3rd too, though perhaps it would have been better if you were a little more beneath the rider so he was higher in frame.

Great photos though!

Fantastic! Love the first and 3rd- although theyre all great. Where is that? Looks like my kinda place....

Cheers.

I couldn't go too low on the third as there was too much bright sky which would have killed the pic. (it was looking into the sun). The rider (Duane aka Minimole on PinkBike) wanted a wider angle shot, and that was about all I could do given the lighting.

They're taken from a local trail in Edinburgh at the Pentland hills.

Here's another one. Unfortunately I'd got the flash a wee bit low having just set it back up after taking the 3rd pic. It would have been nice to have light the face a bit and sharpened things a bit more but hey ho...:

Pentland Hills? Wow, that brings back some awesome memories- i used to live in Morningside just round the corner! I remember it being muddier than that.

Lush table...

Fair enough, it's still a wicked shot!

Cheers. I'm sure Duane will be happy at hearing his table described as being lush.

Pentlands is surprisingly dry at the moment in most places. I rode there last night (certainly didn't do the gap jump in the dark) and it was even drier than Monday. I'm sure that it won't last forever, though.
