lighting for night streetwhen shooting night street, like in the magazines, do people every use their own lighting? lik egenrator powered light? or jsut the natural light and flash?

Tend to use what available background light there is, coupled with a wide flash coverage. You have to use a large aperture with the wide flash coverage, which also helps with getting some kind of background well exposed. Only really need generated lighting if you're shooting video at night.
