Just plain crazy!I only have a couple of months left on my learners license now, so naturally I'm looking for a car now. For easily the past 5 years I have wanted a Nissan 240sx. I find one for sale at a dealership 4 hours away, good price/condition. Okay cool.
The asking price is $4000(Canadian), okay a little pricey, but decenr since its a nice car right? Like what is money if you cant spend and enjoy it?
But then I check out some insurance quotes...
What the hell??? $1500 a year more than I paid for the car incase I might do something!!??!?

Yep, that sounds about right. You're a new driver, it's not exactly the most suited car to learners... It's a high risk equation, insurance is going to be high unless you go for something smaller (engine wise) and safer.

This is starting to look better now. People down the road have a nice little 1988 Mercedes 260e for sale that could be had for cheap. I figured "Hey its a 19 year old sedan, not very big, not overly quick... it should be cheaper"
Nope.
