I've not been on here in a while...

...and in all honesty I've not been up to a lot, just random snaps etc.

Got a few shoots lined up now at long last, although it seems I'll be doing more weddings next spring just to make ends meet.

Had a lot of sh*t going on lately too, but hopefully that's over now.

2008.5: The snapshots. In no particular order, with no particular explanation.

And seeing that I'm doing a 6-month update, I can't be arsed to throw the bike photos elsewhere seeing that there's not been that many. Have them here instead.

Sorry it's a bit pic heavy, I'll try and get on here more regularly. I'll also try to take more proper photos from now on, I've been very slack in my approach the last 12 months, like I said it's just been snapshots... I don't feel like my hearts been in it even though I want it there. Here's to 2009.

Peace.

i cant fault any of them, but what is the second one meant to be?
JAW

Wahey, good to have you back online!

The second one is quite incredible (if it is what I think it is)!

How did you get the third shot so sharp, btw?

EDIT: Think i saw you at the Qashqai Final back in May. Is this you?:

Good to see you back again, Mike. Nice work too. Loving the 28 days later one.

Jaw..you stalker.. although i thought i saw you.. on the platform that fell down!..i think we allready talked about that?

Nice shots Mike. I remember looking at your flickr, the 4th is in the pitch black with really long exposure.
How did you do it..as my max exposure is 30 im sure others are longer, but did you just put it on bulb and rest something on the sutter?

He could have done that, but he wouldn't have. There is an easier way - use a cable remote where you can lock the trigger.

Yep that's right we did mention that  Wink  Yes it does seem a bit stalker-ish, it's just i saw him and thought 'is it mike? isn't it? is it?' so i thought the easiest thing to do would be to take a pic and post it to him.  Smile

To answer some questions:

The 2nd photo is a portion of our Galaxy, the Milky Way. Want to try it again from somewhere with less light pollution... Rural Gloucestershire is rubbish.

The third shot being so sharp, ISO 800 (pushing it with the D70) f/2 and whatever the fastest shutter speed was... Probably about 1/80th

The fourth shot was indeed taken in pitch black at night. I was VERY drunk when I took this photo, but felt I had to. We were camping at Cwm Carn sat around at a picnic bench just drinking and laughing, no-one else could see this scene it was that dark. 4 minute exposure at a fairly wide aperture and ISO400... Told you it was dark. IR shutter remote, press once to open shutter, press again to close it. Easy!

Yes that is me at Qashqai... God I look bad in that shot, I was probably grimmacing at Harvey. That shot makes it look like I have a collosal belly, when in fact I was just arching backwards for a sec to stretch.

Also in other news, I broke up with Nikki... Hence the shit going on that I mentioned. UPDATE: one week later I find that she'd been cheating on me (again, might I add) for the last few weeks of our relationship. I'd had my suspicions but she kept feeding me bare-faced lie after bare-faced lie until eventually one of her uni friends accidentally let slip that Nikki had told her about her escapades weeks before I decided to call it off with her. 3 years down the pan...  Sad

Sorry to hear about that buddy, and sorry about the unflattering shot!

Keep posting them pics!
