Film anyone?

Any of you guys shooting 35mm film still? My Elan 7e has been sitting with no love for a long time. I've shot maybe six rolls of film since I switched to digital in 2003. I was mostly wanting to get back to full frame shooting but I ended up getting a 5D last month. All the same, the urge to shoot some film hasn't left so I bought five rolls of Fuij Superia 400 and five rolls of Kodak Gold 200 this morning. I shot a roll of 400 at the park and loaded a roll of 200 and shot half of it. I wish my EOS 5 wasn't broken Sad I miss the spot metering. Maybe I'll fix it someday...

Yeah we have a catergory for 35mm film, which occasionally gets some use. Why don't you post some of your works there?

I have started using 35mm as i am now studying photography at school. I find the processing process incredibly painful... (as in boring)

I haven't shot film for years. I do miss Fuji Velvia though. Whilst the immediate feedback from the digital medium really helps one's photography skills (especially the ability to view the histogram between shots), there's nothing that quite compares to the colours, character and detail you could get from Velvia slides. There was also something nice about the smell from the film, and the excitement of getting your slides back from the lab.

I'd love to share, but I don't have a film scanner anymore Sad I used to have a Nikon 4000ED scanner, but I sold it sometime after I switched to digital. In hindsight that was a dumb idea. My dad has boxes and boxes of chromes he shot during two tours in Vietnam. Someday, that task will fall on me. I don't have any of my scans anymore either. Still have all the negatives and chromes though. Any new stuff I shoot in the meantime, I can get the lab to scan for me.

I'm currently shooting my way through some Delta 400 after buying out the last few rolls that any of my local shops had! Laughing

Seems the only B&W Ilford films that anyone stocks these days are FP4+ and HP5. Sad

My uncle runs a photography business in Holland. When digital came in he pretty much went bust because no one needed to buy film anymore. However now all his rivals have gone bust so he may survive on the remaining film customers. Does any one here want to buy any film? If so, i'll ask him if he's got any.
