Don't feel intimidated! When someone makes you feel like a shit photographer I have a little tip
Go buy a Nikon D200
Wrap the strap lovingly around your hand making sure you have a firm grip on it.
Approach "pro" with a scowl and a thirst for violence.
Begin swinging action of D200.
Tell "pro" that there is an AMAZING bike behind them.
Proceed to swing the D200, this time around the back of their heads.
Leave them your website (in the case that you dont have a site then a couple of links to your photos like me!) address on a heart shaped post-it note, with a big smiley face on it.
Stand over them and shout the following
"NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO"
I love being a girl.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
alternatively just cry.

Or go and buy a D200. Immediately take off the strap. Replace it with a nice neoprene one, e.g. Optech, and people will instinctly know that you are a photographer of substance and style.
Oh, and don't let them see any of your photos that are less than perfect.

Yes you do have distinct advantages, i.e. if i were to stand there and cry, people would point and laugh where as if you cry they'd be all sorry and sympathetic!

Precisely. A solid album of contrasting shots, each one splendid and unique in its own right will never fail to impress. Simple. Now i just have to go and get those damned shots...
