Cropped or uncropped?Yep that question again. Got this shot and noticed my shadow once I'd taken it:
Have cropped the image as tight as poss but has the image now lost its edge? Am not one for cropping and this is a rare occasion where it was used

I prefer the crop. I also agree it's better to compose so that you don't need to.
The first pic is a bit uninspiring for me- the rider is pretty central and there are a lot of distractions. Contrast that with the second, where the bowl guides you around. I think it could actually benefit from a lot more cropping - I'd get rid of the car park, buildings and the canal/river in the background as they're adding nothing.
I also think you'd have been better using the same aspect ratio as the photo, rather than just removing the shadow on the right side.

I see what you mean but i think all these objects add to the abstractness of the shot.

i like the buildings and stuff, sometimes it can improve a photo. but i prefer cropped. although seeing a shadow of the photographer could possibly add something
