CriteriumNot a mountain bike criterium, but at least it's a bicycle of some form. Even if it's a road bike. 
My panning is rusty as hell, so I opted for the higher shutter speeds after the first photo below. I shot all of these with a 5D and Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX. between 8:00 AM and 9:15 AM this morning.
The pack spent most of their time over 20 mph, even on the uphill. You have to give some respect to the older participants though. They may not be able to keep up with the rest of the peloton, but they were out there all the same in the 94˚F/34˚C tempartures.
Now if I could only find some mountain bikers to shoot...
