I'm looking for a new nikon to replace my 4100 4MP

The reason i have chosen nikon is i love the camera i have and i'm used to the controls settings etc.

So i have 2 cameras in my price range:

Coolpix L1 6.2MP camera with 5x optical zoom

Coolpix 7600 7.1 MP with 3 x optical zoom

I'm not sure what to go for, MP v's optical zoom.

I've found in the past that i have needed more zoom (curent camera has 3x) but i've also found i've not got as good quality pics so really needed more MP's

The L1 is slightly cheaper as well.

I went for the 7600

Although it doesn't have as much optical zoom it's got a quicker startup and the pre-focused and auto focused shutter speed is almost half the time of the other one.
