'Poster Edges'I played around on photoshop with a picture i took, i messed around with 'poster edges' on the filter.

Any advice on how i could have photoshopped it better, i.e. just messed with the sharpness and brightness?

In photoshopping pics, you dont really need to use effects etc. It is kinda strange making a pic like that into that effect. Dont get me wrong, well done. But usually in PS you change the levels sharpness etc. to enhance the pic and make it better looking.

Yeye i know, but im new to photoshop and still don't know how to change sharpness etc, any advice?

their are a few ways to change sharpness, the main two ways are unsharp mask and sharpen filter
google it to get a decent guide to using them

It's difficult to comment on such small pictures but there are lots of things that affect sharpness, e.g. using a tripod/faster shutter speed, good lenses, point of focus and aperture used and then photoshop can only improve that, not fix slightly blurred photos to start with.
As Adam says unsharp mask is a good tool to learn and levels adjustments are a good starting point for adjusting the 'brightness' (sharpening is the last step you want to do). You'd be best to look for tutorials on who to use them.
