Did you add the runner up because it's yours? Perks off the job I guess!
still prefer yours though! _________________ "I have nothing to declare, except my genius." |

lol i knew everyone would think that! No, I thought it would be cool to spotlight more than one pic seeing as the winner also gets a spot on the home page. _________________

Thank goodness that taste prevailed and Mike's pic won. Its a great photo. Can't fault it other than to point out that riding on litter bins is vandalism
I'm sorry JAW but I don't get your pic at all. The lighting is good but I don't think that's enough to carry the photo. The composition doesn't work IMHO. I'm not sure if it'd look better without the rider or not. Well done though. _________________ Hamish |

The rider is not the focus. The focus is on the rocks and their tone on which the rider is riding, which is why the rider is essential: it's about showing what we ride on/riding environment. _________________

I understand what you mean, JAW. That's not the problem. It just doesn't achieve it IMHO. _________________ Hamish |

We'd all like to be our own critique Nah i understand the concept but i'm with Hamish that it looks a bit awkward. Maybe go back to that spot (as those rocks are amazing and lighting is nice) and try some different comps. At the minute it just looks a bit like a point and shoot shot of some nice rocks.
Maybe try and show the surroundings while still showing thew rider, alot of Hamish's pictures are an exdample of how the is possible albeit in a different situation.
But back on topic: I personally voted for Mikes image simply due to how lovely and clean it is. I saw it elsewhere (trials forum?) a while ago and instantly loved it. The arse shot works well here, it gives it a kind of mood (added to by black and white) that i don't think you'd get even if it was possible for the rider to come the other way. The riders position is also just about perfectand he pops nicely due to the dark clothes against the light and uncluttered background. The sea also looks really atmospheric and the only critique i could give is that i'm not too sure about the shadow of the bin although can't really tell if its a good thing or not without seeing one without. If we're really being picky the rider could also be dead centre on the bin but thats not your fault. _________________ www.watfordriders.co.uk |

Yeah it was kinda spontaneous and i will be going back to that spot. It was difficult to get the shot though as it were near impossible to get only rocks and no grass or fresh air.
But yeah, i reckon mike's shot is definately worthy of winner, no doubt abou it.
