|
|
PotM is now going to be slightly reformulated:
Orignally, I had the idea to start this next January, but I couldn't be bothered to wait! Basically, PotM will run as usual but from now on each entry will recieve points after voting has taken place. First place will recieve 100 points, second place will recieve 80 points, 3rd place 60, 4th place 30 and 5th place 10. Then at the end of the year, the person with the most points will be crowned 'Photographer of the Year'.
Obviously, as we are already half way through the year, we will only be having 6 rounds...
Also, only one entry per person please, though if you can't decide between two feel free to ask for opinions!
So anyway, this month the theme will be corners (berms, flat corners, whatever...). It might sound a little restrictive at first, but the more you think about it the more possibilities there are for some very diverse shots!
The deadline is June the 18th (give or take a day) so get shooting!

Good idea for a new format! I don't normally shoot stuff that involves corners, but last weekend was an exception so I actually have something I can enter to this first round.

Here's my entry:

Just a thought - should we insist that any submitted pictures are at least ones taken in 2009 (and preferably shot during the month of entries)? I think it's a good idea as it gets everybody thinking about the topic more and it's not right that one of us could potentially win photographer of the year using photos from their back catalogue! _________________ Hamish

Yes I reckon this is a good idea, though I won't enforce it for this month as a lot of people have already submitted pics. _________________

Absolutely agree. You can't change the rules only a few days before the deadline.
Do people think we should only allow entries taken after the topic has been announced? Or would that be going too far? _________________ Hamish |

It might reduce the amount of entries, but I do like the idea myself. _________________

Yeah the quality of entries is high this month!

I'm a bit split; I reckon it would be good as it would give a good reason for us to get out there and get shooting, though on the other hand, as ben mentioned I reckon some people might not bother to enter all together, due to lack of time etc...
