A few weeks ago the lens on my camera decided it no longer wanted to move in and out. The camera tries to move it in and out but can't.

I think it may have something to do with me stepping on it a few seconds before it stopped working, but I'm not sure.

So what I want to know is, what is the best lubricant for cameras? I'm thinking WD40 but maybe dry chain lube would work if I sprayed enough all over the camera?

Thanks for any help

DONT put lube on it!! It'll make it yucky and grease up the lense.
Just try and pry it out, dunno if it will work tho.

What camera is it?

I had the same problem with my old Fujifilm S602... Basically what happened is the lens motor gearing had all sheered thus rendering it useless. Had to pay for a new zoom/focus system to be put in.
