Hi
I'm a newbie in the forum, would appreciate some advice.
Recently got a Canon 40D and the 18-200 IS lens.
Want to take some mtb action shots, but feel I need a faster lens than the 18-200.
Thinking about the Tokina 16-50 f2.8 or the Sigma 18-50 f2.0 macro.
Any comments? Is the Sigma 30mm 1.4 prime orth going for?

Welcome to the forums!
Concerning the sigma 30mm f1.4, if you're on a tight budget you could get the Canon 50mm f1.4 for about £100 less, or the Canon 50mm f1.8 for about £300 less (which is a rather big difference!).
I have the nikon 50mm f1.8 and I can say it's well worth the very humble price - two other users on this forum recently voted it as their favourite bit of kit: http://freewheelphoto.myfastforum.org/about1088.html
I can't be much help on the other lenses unfortunately! _________________

Thanks jaw
Changed my mind completely and bought a Sigma 12-24, mainly for landscape work.
I'll post up the Kona Mash photos later this morning. _________________ Regards
