Hello there,

first of all i want to get this forum back to its original state: i.e an active & friendly communtiy. I have set up the photo of the month comp again and from next month it will have different themes to keep up the interest (Hamish's idea which i fully agree with).

And after that i will see what happens. A lot of it is really up to all the users to get back on and start posting again...

The one thing that I think is a bit silly is the fact that we have a "photo critique" and a "photo" section. Surely anyone submitting a photo to a photo based site should expect some critique.

I know Adam had set it up so that there's a section where you need to be a member, but is there really much point in having both. Why don't we just archive one and keep the other?

Whaddya reckon?

Yer i'm with Hamish on that one. Even snapshots you're not proud of and stuff should still be critiqued.

Also another thing i reckon would be useful, when posting photos.... put a little self crit on them. This way people learn to critique their own photos which i reckon is an essential step to improving. Also stops loadsa people telling them somethign they already know. Smile

Yeah ok good points, i will do this, however we must remember to keep critique constructive and not 'tear apart' users photo's as not to put people off from posting their pics; when i was new to this site i never posted in the critique forum cos i didn't want my pics to be 'ripped up' as if.
