Does anyone know is using a circular polarisng filter effect the shutter speed or aperature? I mean, like does using a circ, polarising filter mean you have to use longer shutter speed for example?

Everything stays the same. Filter is infront , or behind the lens itself..depending what kind of camera you have..i'm not sure on the D50. _________________ 02' Specialized P1 Frame

| It does not stay the same. Depending on what brand of polarizer you are using, it will cut 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 stops of light from the exposure (the package should tell you). If you are using an auto exposure mode in your camera, it will compensate for you. If you are using a camera with an external light meter, you will have to manually adjust the exposure. If you are looking into buying a polarizer for your auto focus camera, make sure it is a circular polarizer. If you accidentally or intentionally buy a linear polarizer, it will impair the auto focus and metering of your camera. |
