Went out for a lazy ride today with a few mates around a local easy XC trail. Didn't take many photos as it was a bit cold and couldn't really be bothered, but got this one which turned out okay:
D200 with 50mm f1.8
@ f2 1/500 ISO 200

Its good, but do i see haze or blur around the rider in places, namely the legs and helmet. Why is that?
And is that not spooky wood? Looks alot like the top, oohhh happy memories.
I also like how the rider is in the edge like some of your other pics, good comosition technique IMO and the expression on the riders face shows that he is doing it with ease. |

Thanks.
There is a bit of chromatic abberation present. That sort of effect happens with the 50mm f1.8 in contrasty conditions. A lot of lenses have similar problems in harsh light with light/dark edges. Often it's the dreaded 'purple fringing' that you see. You can also see some of it on the POTW6 in the rider on the right's sleeves, which was similar light and the same lens. I could have removed it in photoshop but was too lazy. I might get around to it someday.
And it is the first tabletop at spooky wood. Great fun for what is basically and easy XC trail. I just wish the rest of it was a bit steeper as I always end up having to pedal later on. _________________ Hamish |
